The clip on rubber will help with the initial launch of thicker spear shafts such as 7.5 and 8mm shafts. This will help achieve greater speed and penetration.
This Clip on rubber (kicker band / booster rubber) clips on the side bolts of spearguns on the Mannysub roller power head kit and is designed to work in conjunction with the main rubber going through the rollers.
The clip on rubber will help with the initial launch of thicker spear shafts such as 7.5 and 8mm shafts. This will help the shaft achieve greater speed and penetration.
This set up is best suited for spearguns ranging from 100 to 130 cm destined for chasing big pelagics in blue water.
The clip on rubber will allow you to put your arm through it after it’s fired, so you don’t loose your roller speargun when rigged with a breakaway shaft.
With a 16mm main rubber through the rollers, a 14 mm clip on rubber is recommended. This setup is the most popular, as it provides great power , a bit less recoil and easier to load. Ideal if you load and shoot a lot.
With a 18mm main rubber through the rollers, a 16 mm clip on rubber is recommended. This setup is the less popular, as is harder to load and has more slighly more recoil but it offers more power. Better suited if you don’t load and shoot a lot.
NB: The current roller power head comes standard with flush screws that wont accommodate a clip on rubber.
