Got a question?

Absolutely. We’re local spearos and freedivers and love helping beginners get started safely. Tell us your experience level, the waters you’ll be diving (rocky reef, bluewater, temperate or warm), and your budget, and we’ll recommend a complete starter kit (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, weight belt, knife, and your first speargun).

You can get personalised advice in-store, by phone, or by sending photos/specs of any existing gear.

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If an item is faulty or not as described, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos. We’ll arrange a replacement, repair, or refund, subject to the manufacturer’s warranty and our returns terms.

Note: custom items, used/reserved items, and consumables (e.g. single-use parts) may have different conditions. See our full Returns & Refunds Policy page for details.

Yes. Safety is the most important part of spearfishing and freediving. Key rules:

  • Never dive alone. Always have a buddy and use a float/flag.
  • Know and follow local fishing regulations (bag/size limits, protected species, and marine parks).
  • Stay within your training and depth limits — never hyperventilate before a dive.
  • Keep your equipment well maintained and regularly practise rescue/buddy procedures.

We’ll happily talk safety basics in-store or you can join one of our freediving courses and workshops to build your confidence and skills.

Shipping times depend on your destination:

  • Metro WA shipments are typically 1–3 business days.
  • Interstate deliveries usually take 2–7 business days.
  • Remote areas may take longer.

If you need a specific delivery timeframe, contact us and we’ll advise the best options.

Basic care keeps your gear life extended, working properly and safely:

  • Rinse everything in fresh water after use.
  • Dry wetsuits and neoprene gear in the shade — avoid direct sunlight.
  • Inspect rubbers, shafts, and lines for wear or cracking.
  • Lubricate moving parts where recommended.
  • Sharpen knives and shaft tips as needed.

If you’re unsure how to service a speargun or other equipment, bring it in and we’ll show you maintenance tips and the right products to help.

Band choice depends on several factors including the speargun type, barrel length, and desired power.

Click here to see some general reference charts.

Shaft length depends on your gun’s make, model, and intended use.
Shaft diameter affects strength, flexibility, and penetration. Common diameters are 6.6mm, 7.0mm, 7.5mm, 8.0mm, and 8.5mm.

General guide:

  • Conventional guns: Shaft is typically 400mm longer than the barrel (e.g. a 1100mm speargun takes a 1500mm shaft).
  • Double Roller guns: Shaft is usually 300mm longer than the barrel plus the Slip tip or 400mm longer with a double flopper

For precision and performance, refer to your manufacturer’s chart or ask us We’ll recommend the right shaft length, diameter, and tip setup for your gear and hunting style.

Fin stiffness and material depend on your strength, weight, kicking technique, and dive style.

Choosing the right fin material makes a big difference to your performance, comfort, and diving experience.

  • Closed-cell neoprene (like a surf wetsuit) is warm, flexible, and easy to put on. Ideal for general freediving and spearfishing in warm waters.
  • Open-cell neoprene has a smooth, skin-like inner surface that seals to your body for superior warmth and less compression at depth. It’s favoured by divers in colder waters but needs lubricant to put on easily.
  • Thickness
    1mm - 2.5mm: Warm Tropical waters (26°C – 30°C)
    3mm - 3.5mm: Moderate Temperature (18° – 25°)
    5mm - 7mm: Cold Water (8°C – 16°C)

For most WA conditions, a quality open-cell suit of the right thickness is perfect.
